Hišimy̓awiƛ is a alpine hut built by the Alpine Club of Canada – Vancouver Island Section. The hut is perched between 5040 Peak and Cobalt Lake, in Nuu-Chah-Nulth First Nations Territory, between Port Alberni and Ucluelet BC. All the building elements had to be flown in by helicopter, or packed in by foot, to its location at an elevation of 1319m. The Hut provides year-round accommodations for people enjoying the scenic alpine area which provides access to stunning hiking trails and epic back country ski terrain.
